Pretty much describes my feelings. I see that CBS Sportsline is predicting TCU as the 3 rd seed and Ohio State as number 4.
I have no qualms about how the playoff teams are ranked, # 4 for Ohio State is fine. Just pleased we will end up playing in the final four. Losing to Michigan the second time in two years was difficult. No excuses this time around. I do not see us making it past the initial game on the 31st!
I don't think so. My prediction (please discount the fact that I'm usually wrong) is OSU at #4 and TCU at #3. If Ga had lost and Michigan was #1 then they would have put OSU at #3. I don't think they want a rematch at the semi-final level. Of course I could be wrong and they actually WANT that to happen to prevent a possible National Championship game to again have both teams from the same conference. Or I could really be wrong and they put 'Bama in instead of OSU, and quite frankly, I wouldn't get worked up over that. Only two teams have achieved accomplished the feat of clearly belonging and not "backing in".
Imagine that? TCU ranked higher than Ohio State. Oh yeah, that means they won't play Michigan in the first round.
It doesn't matter to me one iota whether it's TCU or Alabama, and I'm OK with eliminating the 13th game loss as a major factor and not admitting a two-loss team. But you won't convince me that in 2022, 1-loss TCU is a better team head-to-head than 2-loss Alabama. P.S. In my opinion, and I'm pretty sure others would agree, 1-loss TCU is not a better team than 1-loss Ohio State, but it makes sense not to have a repeat of Ohio State-Michigan in the semi-final game. Yeah Sid, Terry and I had discussed this earlier in this thread. I can't imagine why TCU should be ranked ahead of OSU other than to manipulate the matchups.
I'm ok with the 4 teams but agree that OSU should be number 3. But no matter, believe we are looking at a Georgia - Michigan final.
Yeah TCU has had a magical season and Max Duggan IMHO should win the Heisman, if for no other reason than he doesn't have F^^K whatever team he's playing on his fingernails like Caleb Williams. But they remind me a lot of the 2012 Irish who had a magical season and won a lot of close games, but didn't really dominate any good teams other than OU in Norman. But in the end Alabama just had too many elite players for us to handle and their advantage at QB with A J McCarron who was a really good college QB with a lot of weapons and a real girl friend!
I had rated your post a like. But after thinking about it I changed it to a WINNER. You have one of the most open and objective minds of any sports fans I have known. I am not sure if that had been the Gators I could have taken your stance.
I value this.forum. I have.always strived to be objective in my comments here. I know many don't believe that but I really do. Thanks for that.
I am not buying that many don't believe that about you. I certainly believe you are objective and think most here do.
Kyle, your objectivity and humility, especially when talking about Alabama, is obvious to all. It’s admirable and makes for great conversations and analysis.
