My guess is that he'll go to TCU, Max Duggan graduates this year to the NFL and Sonny Dykes has a good record with QB development.

The Conf Championship games are interesting. 4 of them have top 4 teams vs 3 loss teams. The 5th the ACC doesn't really matter in the overall scheme.

USC vs 3 loss Utah but Utah beat them in Salt Lake City. But this will be in Las Vegas so no home crowd or altitude to deal with and USC seems to be peaking at the right time. Don't see an upset here.

Georgia vs 3 loss LSU Good 1st season for Brian Kelly and LSU, but no way do they beat Georgia.

Michigan vs 4 loss Purdue Purdue's only hope is that Michigan shows up unprepared and still celebrating the big win in Columbus, not likely to happen.

TCU vs 3 loss KState this is where the upset might happen. KState battled TCU in Ft. Worth and lost a close one. Neutral site, I won't be shocked if somehow KState pulls the upset.

I get the Rose Bowl wants to maintain it's history and that is the Parade in the morning and the "Grand Daddy of them all" played in the afternoon on Jan 1 no matter what day of the week that falls on.

But that clearly doesn't work in a playoff senario. So why the insistence that the world bend to their history?

“We've got a bowl with a keen interest in preserving their date & time. That’s part of the negotiating package with a media provider. Does that add value or cost value for the College Football Playoff?” Keenum asked.

The bowl that Keenum is alluding to is the Rose Bowl, as sources previously discussed with Ross Dellenger.

The Rose Bowl is interested in keeping its scheduled date and time of mid-afternoon on January 1st. But in an ideal College Football Playoff expansion, the Rose Bowl would presumably be in the rotation to host a quarterfinal or semifinal game, which would not take place on January 1st.

The playoffs have already taken the shine off the mystique of the RB. With the PAC12 possibly imploding, the RB risks being totally irrelevant and cut out of the new TV contract if they take a hard line and try to block the imminent expansion of the playoffs. The RB committee must still think it is still 1975 in the California bubble they inhabit.

What Riley has done at USC is the new model for program building. Taking a roster that was medicore and performed as mediocre and making them into a CFP team just couldn't have been done without the new way things are being done. Sure Larry Coker won a Natty at Miami in his first year but he took over a loaded roster that had been an elite program.

In reading on InsideTexas they already have 7 guys in the portal and more expected some before the bowl game and some will leave after Spring. 15 guys min, maybe 18-20 for the most part they are guys who were unlikely to crack the 2 deep in Austin. While nobody will admit it but you know that Sark has had conversations with these guys and encouraged them to go into the portal and move to another school where they can have a shot at playing. They (Texas) will be monitoring the portal and pulling in experienced players who can fit the needs of the team.

No longer building with HS players, sure you add HS players but you also add kids from the portal.

USC went out and used NIL to build the roster with experienced players who are ready to contribute. Also you think USC would be as good as they have become if Caleb Williams and the other skill talent they brought in had to sit out a year. Do you think those guys would have even come if they had to sit a year.

Another thing that is happening in recruiting is that "collectives" are paying kids way on unofficial visits and they are paying kids not to visit other schools. they are paying kids/parents money before they enroll and they are also gong behind the scenes to let kids that they would like to enter the portal, like the Addison kid at Pitt, and telling them what money and benefits they will get if they go into the portal and come to their school.

Times are changing and some, maybe most say it's what needed to be done, after all the kids weren't getting anything while coaches were getting millions and moving on to better jobs abandoning the kids they recruited.

Hartline under consideration for the Cincinnati job. Seems like it would be a good but risky move since Hartline has never been a Coordinator much less a HC. But he's clearly a guy who has a bright future, he's maybe the premier WR coach in the country, he is a tremendous recruiter. Could turn out really well ...or not.

Dabo was a WR coach at Clemson before he got the HC job.

BOO F'ing HOO! Those kids can cry me a river.
As a parent that just recently paid close to 6 figures for a kid to attend a small college, I haver ZERO understanding of anyone saying they got nothing.
    They live like freaking kings!
I suppose college football will still be around in 10 years, but I won't be watching it.
A pro minor league filled with young free agents holds no interest for me.

I think a lot of people, like me agree with you. I always bristled when somebody said the kids got nothing, I think there are a lot of kids with heavy student debt that might think that free tuition, room and board is far from nothing.

I think most of us could see the current NIL situation free for all coming, but more than a few bought that these kids were being "used" while their coaches/colleges got rich off their backs.

Same for the easy 1 time transfer, again for most of the history kids had to sit out a year in football. It worked but along with getting paid they wanted to be free from the bondage to one school. I mean again the coaches get to move when they want to move. I do think there have been some instances where schools refused to give a release to a player transferring which i always thought was petty. That needed to be changed so once a kid was committed to leaving he gets to leave and not have to beg for his former school to restrict where he goes, even if it is a rival.

A couple of arrests in CFB.

Fla backup QB Jalen Kitna was arrested for Child Porn
Former Neb coach Mickey Joseph was arrested for domestic violence.

A players union and agents on the sidelines are right around the corner. And before you say NO, did you ever think we would be where are right now?

That one stings. Kitna will not be a major loss for the Gators but the publicity will be terrible. All I can say is good riddance to him.

On another note about the Gators is that it seems our QB Richardson is moving on to the NFL. A lot of Gators are glad to see him go but not me.

However we need to move on and get a QB from the portal. I am not sure just who will start out bowl game if AR, (Richardson) moves on and Kitna in jail but whatever. The bowl game is likely a loss but the extra practices, recruiting and the portal I expect better prospects for the Gators next season.

    The portal definitely changes things.
Bill's situation would have been a disaster in previous years, but now they can go out and get a good QB that is ready to start immediately. I guess there is one tiny silver lining to all this BS...

We have a very high 4 star QB committed, Rashada, but will also need one from the Portal. The kid from Wake Forest, Sam Hartman has been mentioned.

What we are going to do in the bowl game is up in the air. Doesn't look like Richardson is going to play.
