Minchey Quote ref his Commitment: "I felt like Coach Rees believes in me and my abilities and I felt like Coach Freeman is going to be carrying on the tradition at Notre Dame,” Minchey said before announcing his decision publicly. “I feel like he loves his players and actually cares for them and wants the best for them. Also, the players who are going to be around me. They're only going to make me better.” Getting this kid to commit was all about Marcus Freeman
In today's "if I ain't startin' I'm departin'" world of college football will Minchey's signing have any impact on Carr's decision to come to ND? Just askin'
No it won't. As a matter of fact Carr has spoken to Minchey and is still very steady with his commitment. Of all the commits in the 2024 class I would say Carr has the least chance of decommiting. He is rock steady on coming to Notre Dame.
After seeing the latest playoff poll it appears that ND has a chance to knock the PAC12 out of the playoffs all together if they could knock off usc. We could mess up everything. Interesting......
Good news abounds. Finally have a 2023 QB. He seems like a really good player. Accurate arm, goody height, mobile. Drayk Bowen who has had a great Sr. year as a 2 way player, is a finalist for the Butkus Award. A Notre Dame commit from the class of 2023 has been named a finalist for the annual Butkus Award. This award goes to the best high school linebacker in America. There were 15 semifinalists in total, but the list was trimmed to five finalists and the winner of the award will be named on or before Dec. 7. Irish Men battled Bowling Green last night back and forth till the last 6 minutes when they pulled away for a a comfortable 82 - 66 win. Freshman JJ Starling had a great game. Irish Women's basketball headed to the Bahamas for games with American and Arizona State. Irish women's soccer in an elite 8 battle with UNC at Alumni. Oh yeah I did hear from Sid that we play USC Saturday! Win would be awesome not just because it's USC, although knocking them out playoff contention would be sweet. But it would also be a great ending to the season for a team that has more than a few ups and downs. Start the season with a top 5 Ohio State at Columbus and finish the season with a (almost) top 5 USC in Los Angeles. Both teams have awesome QB'S and terrific receivers. Played Ohio State tough maybe we can do the same with USC and finish them off and if we do then it's a complete turn around from where we were after losing to Marshall.
Of lesser significance but significant in Indiana, he's a favorite for Indiana Mr. Football, which Jack Kizer won a few years ago. His team is in the Class 2A state championship game on Friday. .
Irish women had an easy win over American in the Bahama's yesterday. They play Arizona State on Sunday. Irish men play St. Bonaventure out on Long Island this afternoon.
Apparently USC has given up a lot of rushing yards this year. That should spell doom against a team like ND with three good backs and a veteran line. If Pyne can manage the offense and not turn the ball over I would expect ND to win by 10+.
It looks like we should be able to run against them but they may have the best QB we have faced this year.
It all depends on if our defense can get to Caleb Williams, he really showed me something in that UCLA game. He was scary good. We also have to get TD's in the redzone. We got to the redzone a lot vs BC but settled for FG's. I think we all agree that we need to see the Pyne we saw vs UNC. and BYU and the 1st half of the Navy game.
