Carlos Beltran leads the pack. His numbers are borderline at best and he was suspended for the 2017 cheating scandal. But compared to the rest of these guys he looks like Babe Ruth ! Other notable first-timers on the Hall of Fame ballot include former Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey, who won the NL Cy Young Award in 2012 with New York; former Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury; pitchers Huston Street, John Lackey, Francisco RodrÃguez, Bronson Arroyo and Matt Cain; outfielder Jayson Werth; and catcher-first baseman Mike Napoli. The steroid era really created a void, didn't it ! Your thoughts?
Other than Beltran, pretty much a who's who of...... WHO? REALLY? COOPERSTOWN? Ummmm, no Void is right.....as weak a ballot as I can remember.
I just spent a day in Cooperstown with my grandsons ten days ago. There are photos and artifacts from Pete Rose all over the museum. The HOF is trading on his accomplishments while witholding his membership. The solution to this was always right there.... allow his induction based on his stellar playing career but never allow him to take an active role in baseball again due to his post career gambling on games.
