Boy this USC/UCLA game is a barn burner. UCLA won't go away. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been a warrior for the Bruins. Right now neither team can stop the other. 48-45 USC. Under 7 minutes to play
This game might be more dependent on the quality of the medical and training staffs than the coaches.....I know X is dinged up and Corum's status is major uncertainty in addition to several other key contributors. We are a veritable hospital ward in pads. RB Henderson, Williams clearly not up to speed and status uncertain. CJ was limping noticeably during the game. Our starting RG went down, defensive leader LB Eichenberg (a St Ig grad, fyi) has 2 broken hands and our starting SS Ransom broke his thumb. Also seems clear JSN done for the year, outside shot at CFP appearance, but who knows. Ugh..... Injuries could play a bigger role than anytime in recent memory...the quality of depth may be the determining factor
I see we are favored by 7.5 points. I think I would almost preferred to be the underdog for this coming Saturday.
Don't have the data, but it seems to me the underdog has won this contest LOTS of times....also the visiting team has won a lot.
Don, supposedly, Corum was cleared to return to the game but took himself out after 1 play because he could not cut without feeling a high level of pain. We were already missing our back up RB, our starting guard, TE, edge rusher, and back up LB. Our starting QB last year is out for the year as is out original starting TE. Like Terry said, which team has better depth may be the key between winning or losing although whether we have anyone capable of covering Harrison Jr. might be pretty important also.
Indeed.....8,038 days ago the invading stripeheaded hooligan horde from the north last prevailed in Columbus over the Steve Bellisari-led (recruited as and best days were at safety) Buckeyes. A great many things have changed since.... President Bill Clinton Dow Jones = 10,630 Median Home Price = $139,133 Price of Gas = $1.51 Consumer Price Inflation = 3.4% #1 Hit Song = Independent Woman Pt 1 - by Destiny's Child - featuring an up coming female vocalist name Beyonce' Knowles (no relation to Buckeye defensive Jedi "Yoda" Jim Knowles) Most importantly, it gave rise to this introduction 61 days later on Jan. 18, 2001. The new, unproven D-II coach was introduced to the Buckeye fanbase in a packed St. John Arena during halftime of the Ohio State-Michigan basketball game. He was supposed to simply smile and wave – he was not planning to speak. The rest, as we say in God's Country, is legend.....
A little uncouth but at least his hands are on his own nose rather than on a blonde’s crevice. Hamilton I know to be a proud, spirited, conceited, aspiring mortal, always pretending to morality, but with as debauched morals as old Franklin, who is more his model than anyone I know.” –John Adams, letter to Abigail Adams, Jan. 9, 1797
Love the Adams quote.....have to ask the question here, "What would JO'CO say"? and then we would all revel in the story that followed. Miss that guy!
