Irish get another turnover, fumble recovery. But settle for a FG. 4th and 1 inch and the RG flinches so they have to kick the FG. 23-0
Another turnover, backward pass that they fumble and Irish recovery. Refs screw Marist Liaufu out of a TD, but we get the ball and score quickly 30-0 Irish. One good thing that has come out of the failed drives is that Grupe who has missed some FG's from 40ys lately, nailed all three FG's. Good to get him going again.
Matt Salerno with a great punt return, tripped up by the turf monster. Irish score in 4 plays. 3 runs and 1 pass. Sr. Chris Tyree runs it in for the TD. 37-0 Irish. Tim may get his wish in the 2nd half.
44-0 Irish, heavy snow. I imagine it brings back fond memories for Sid and gipper from their student days!!
Heck of a senior day, win and win big, play in the snow and looked like they were having fun. Got several seniors TD's and sent them off with the big win. While not a dramatic win like the '92 win over Penn State in the snow, but those guys will remember this senior day for the rest of their lives. But I'm glad to have watched at home and not in that stadium today.
Corey Robison looked like he was wearing a Midshipman Great Coat on the sidelines. Hard not to acknowldege Ben Morrison getting 3 picks today and he's a true freshman, got two big ones in the win vs Clemson as well.
Yes it does. A few times during my 4 years and after. Also, I was at the snow bowl vs. Penn State. It was a great experience.
No, I'm sitting in my living room "watching the game from Ann Arbor" You'd have to tie me up and carry me into that place.
I was at that Penn. St snow game also. It was cold but by far the coldest game I attended there was Jerry Faust's last home game in 1985. We lost to LSU. There was ice under most of the seats. At halftime I went to the art gallery across the street to try to warm up my feet. Somehow I lost my ticket. When I got back to the stadium I told the ticket taker that I'd lost my ticket. It was no problem, anyone who wanted to go into the stadium on a day like that was welcome.
The Irish women have a sweet 16 game vs TCU tomorrow night at Alumni Stadium. Will be in the low 20's for the match. I imagine that they can't play in snow like football can if it does snow. Cold yes but snow no, but then I don't know.
My coldest game (no snow but very cold and very strong wind) was in 1991 (I think), maybe '92, vs. Navy. Brian was on the team. Judy and I and our two daughters were sitting in the NE corner near the flagpole in the face of a west wind so strong it bit your face off. We had to turn away from the field between plays. The girls left in the 2nd quarter and went to the ACC for the rest of the game. I walked around to the west side just south of the press box to have my back to the wind. I had my choice of good seats. I enjoyed the rest of the game.
BC was a real bad team but that is how you are supposed to beat the bad teams. So often ND plays down to teams like this but today they left no doubt without embarrassing them. Morrison plays like a big time CB. Good play calling by Rees. Everything lining up heading to USC.
O.K. Can we stop all the Senior Day, BC, playing down to you competition etc etc crap now? We play well on Senior day at home and we consistently beat the hell out of BC and seem to own ACC teams in general. Next year's Senior day opponent is Pitt and we will beat the hell out of them then too. Enough! And if I see one more clip of the '93 BC game with the FG from BC costing us probably a NC I'm going to throw up!! It also makes me feel really old because all the commentators say something like, many of you who are old enough to remember or that they were 6yrs old when the game happened. Hell, I remember that game like it was yesterday!! It haunts me every time I see BC. I also remember the stretch of games where BC beat us after that too and the game at BC where their fans were throwing batteries at Ron Powlus!! I don't care how bad we beat them now days. It will never be bad enough!! NEVER!! Furthermore, Phil Jerkovec taking jabs at ND on social media yesterday and earlier in the year just make me realize how glad I am he transferred. He doesn't deserve a ND diploma!! Okay, I feel better now.
Irish up to #13 in the AP poll. If we somehow beat USC we'll finish in the top 10. At that point more than a few will wonder what might have been had we not lost to Marshall and Stanford.
