Vegas baby! Both teams bringing out the alternate uniforms! Old fans aren't enthused, but the kids love them. That's all that counts, right?

    Here is BYU.

White, Blue, Green or Gold..... long as they win I don't care what color the jersey is.

I read that quote in his press conference transcript. I think most coaches are happy to some degree to have their assistants be considered for better jobs. I don't think they are happy if they are looking around during the season though. I think the problem with it is of course recruiting. If say Rees is a hot commodity for a HC somewhere and starts interviewing it brings his recruiting efforts to a screeching halt and then they are a man down and also recruits want to know who is coaching them so things slow down till the situation is resolved.

Of course this is something Saban faces every year and he's figured it out.

We should be pretty healthy going to Las Vegas, we are down some experience at TE with Bauman out for the season and Mitchell still not ready to go so that means Staes and Raridon will be needed to step up. Funny how in the off season it almost seemed like we had too many TE, but with Bauman done, Mitchell injured and Berrong as well it's pretty thin with just Mayer and 2 true freshmen.

Freeman covered a lot of ground in his Monday press conference. Again main thing I took away was that we are in a pretty good spot as a team health wise, as noted it's not that we've not had injuries but that our depth has stepped up and filled in the spots. Main thing is that we've stayed healthy on the OL and that unit has seemed to grow and gain confidence.

I watched some of the BYU/Utah State game and it appears that BYU isn't particularily great on defense. USU was able to run the ball on them. If we can do that then that really helps Drew Pyne.

We are very slight favorites and I expect that due to Utah being close and I believe Neveada has a large Mormon population that it will seem like a Pro-BYU crowd.

Hopefully the Irish will get out of the gate fast, we didn't against either CAL or UNC. But with a couple of games under his belt maybe Pyne will have settled into the starters role and it will show up in his 1st qtr play.

Freeman mentioned the defense and noted that they have played well except for giving up those big plays late like they did against UNC and allowing the late drives like they did against CAL and Marshall and Ohio State. Need them to play the complete game, but then what team doesn't need that from their defense.

When it comes to forcing turnovers, out of 131 FBS teams, ND is ranked 131st with all of 1! We're lucky to be 2-2 with those stats.

DT Jacob Lacy announced he is leaving the team immediately, heading for the portal. He was getting some serious minutes too. Guess somebody offered him a nicer car.

He played a lot of good minutes vs CAL, but for some reason didn't play much v UNC. They need to change the NIL rules so kids can't quit on their team so they can preserve a year and enter the Portal.

That said we have good depth at this position and young players eager to step up and take his place

I laughed out loud at Lacy's statement. Heaped tons of praise on the team, the school how much it has meant to him. Said there was no better place to be and then said I'm outta here. That tells you its money. There can be no other reason.

Irish women's soccer got a big win last night. I'm not a very big fan and sometimes can't appreciate the skills in soccer like Sid and gipper. But even I can see that this young lady has some skills!

Good first half, offense could have scored more that 4th down stop inside the 5 really hurt but then we turn right around and get the safety.

Mayer is having a great game.,to say the least and that TD catch by Jayden Thomas... Just Wow.

Defense has looked a little weak against the run at times but they only have 6 points so hard to be very critical.

I don't know if that TD they got was a great play design / route by the WR or poor defense by the Irish..

Me personally I would have kicked the xp and not gone for 2.

28 - 20 with 6 minutes to go. BYU has come alive on offense.
This is going down to the wire.

Irish come up with a big 4th down play and then ran the clock out, literally.

Looking at the stats we dominated every thing. Time of possession, running, passing. Could have had more points for sure.

Drew Pyne had a very efficient game. Threw the ball very well. 22 - 28 for 262 yds. OL played well, running game almost 300 yards. But the most telling Stat was 40 mins of possession to 19 by the BYU.

If Pyne keeps this up, Tyler Buchner won't get his job back.
