Ralph is going to be right on the south side of it, so a few prayers for him wouldn't hurt. Stu's place is going to catch some wind as well I'd bet. Good luck guys!
Ralph there's a blast from the past. I miss him, not exactly sure why he left us this time. Hope he's doing well and comes through the storm OK
He has a lot of life stuff going on, and the Canes aren't exactly making him proud. He still lurks from time to time.
Not in Fla but now new track heading right for my place. As buttoned up as we can get. Hope Ralph is OK. FlaBucks is in Orlando and looks like he might have some problems as well. Hoping everybody is ok. Thinking of Ralph, Gip, and my boy. Property is just...property.
I have a niece who lives in Sarasota, she and her husband buttoned up best they could and they beat it out of town for my sisters place in Vero Beach. Said traffic going cross state was pretty normal, most people seemed to be heading North.
My place is in Hobe Sound ( Jupiter ) and we are still SSE of the cone by about 40-50 miles at present even with the new track. Expecting wind up to 40-50 and lots of rain. I have lots of friends from Cape Coral up to Sarasota who are in real danger. Good luck to Stu and Gipper and anyone else in the path.
Latest track that I've seen moves the eye a little east and south of us. We're currently under a tropical storm warning. Of concern is the rainfall prediction of between 12 and 17 in. Our power lines are underground so as long as the transformers don't flood we should be ok for electricity. The Villages is well designed for drainage. They've been watering the main avenues for days which throws a lot of our pond water into the air and lowers our pond levels. I recently moved so I'm not sure how our house sits drainage wise but it looks like I'll find out. Prayers for Ralph, he's going to get hit pretty hard.
Two couples are riding it out in our building. Sending us pictures. Pretty bad and it doesn't look like the worst of the surge has come in yet...it should come after landfall. One lucky thing is that high tide isn't until 6PM tonight.
Stay safe fellas! Gip, hope you got the bar stocked up! This ones is supposed to track over land to the west of us and just dump rain ..... expecting 6-10 inches but no big wind or surf issues. Heading up to Philly for my daughters birthday weekend so we'll be getting out just ahead of it
One of the guys who was in our group at Pinehurst is like Stu summers in the Midwest (Galena, Illinois) but winters in Naples. A couple of days ago I thought his property would be OK, but seeing videos of Naples things have changed for the worse
Yeah, Fort Myers Beach. The video of the surge there was amazing. Estero Blvd (the main drag) looked like running the rapids on the river. The entire island was under water. Don't know where my car is. One of the people that stayed (praying they stay safe now that they are stranded in the building with no power, cable, or phone...and have to boil water) reported that all the cars in the parking lot were floating...and then later that there were no cars in the parking lot that she could see. I'm not worried about the car (it's an old beater) but what do you do when you get a call from the cops threatening you cuz you're illegally parked in a palm tree?
My niece and her husband took their 2nd car to a multistory parking garage before evacuating Sarasota to Vero Beach.
