One thing is sure and that is at most if not all colleges the money football brings in funds the sports that are money losers.

I watched the Notre Dame women's soccer take on Marquette last night. Why? My great niece plays for Marquette. But I was struck by how few people were in the stands on a gorgeous night in South Bend. I don't know how much money that program loses, but it exists thanks to the money brought in by Notre Dame football.

If that money now has to be shared revenue much like the NFL. How long before Schools start cutting back minor sports?

Not saying that players (football) should just take one for the minor sports, but it's going to have an impact on their existence.

Terry, The Lady Aggies actually do pretty well on attendance, but I'm sure they still aren't close to breaking even. As you said, things could get dicey for the non revenue sports if this "sharing" continues.

In fairness to CJ, we should note that he's just agreeing with the position that B1G commish Warren took in his interview. If the conference commish is saying the players should share in the revenue, what player is gonna say no we shouldn't get a share? Might be the route to address the equity issues that concern some. High profile athletes like CJ are gonna get promotional deals because of their visibility, 3rd team O-line not so much. I see open worm cans everywhere tho....

Well it's Quinn Ewers who has been named the starter for Texas. Former 5 star Hudson Card will be the backup. If Ewers maintains the starting job for the season you can bet Card will be in the Portal at the end of the season.

Are you surprised that Jimbo hasn't named a starter yet? Seems like this close to the opener you need to have settled on the guy so he gets all the QB1 reps leading up to the game.

No, we kinda expect it to be just before the last week of full practices...
I think that's what he did last year.

So I get the whole "coaching them hard" thing to get them in shape and focused. But this seems a bit excessive and maybe even dangerous to their health. Repeated vomiting damages their esophagus and their dentition.

Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost said his players experience habitual vomiting during practice sessions under new offensive line coach Donovan Raiola.

“He’s coaching them hard,” Frost said about Raiola on Huskers Radio Network. “I laugh at the guys because there is about probably 15-20 vomits every day from offensive linemen.

"It’s not because they’re not in shape — he’s just working them hard. I think they love it. He’s kind of freed them up to go be aggressive and I love the way they’re coming off the ball.”

Even with the DL haul we've had the last 2 years we're going to miss this guy.

I hear he spends some time in the weight room... ;)

Getting back to the revenue sharing issue, I'm sure that Title IX is going to come into play which means that every athlete no matter what the sport may be involved.

Saban gets a big raise that puts him back on top of the salary wagon, just edging out Kirby Smart. He's well deserving of being on top.

And on contract through 2030. I don't think he'll stay on that long though.

In other news....CFB Starts off the season in the Homeland of CFB, Dublin, Ireland this Saturday. Not really sure why Northwestern's there, and not their NW Indiana neighbor.

Yahoo has complete control of the contest AJ, Rules of the contest are for the top 25 teams on a weekly basis. Settings are for Yahoo default games. I guess Yahoo decided to start the games on September 2nd?

Probably because their neighbor will be playing there next year.
