So in the NIL world this is what all the teams face, a prize verbal who is continuing to look around, he's solid of course..that is till somebody makes him an offer he can't refuse. Peyton Bowen is that guy for the Irish.

Bowen will be back in South Bend for an official visit on June 10th while Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Alabama along with the Aggies and the Sooners are hoping to host him for officials as well.

But Bowen continues to describe himself as “solid” with Notre Dame.

“I’m a solid commitment,” he said. “There’s nothing that has swayed me away. Only time will tell if that stays, but as of right now, I’m committed.

“I just go back to that first visit and remember how it was back then and what it is now.”

I don't like to be cynical when it comes to 18 year olds, but that seems to me to be at best a semi-contradictory statement: I'm solid.....Only time will tell.......as of right now....

The recruitment of 5 star QB Dante Moore is another example. He reportedly really likes the Irish and earlier in the year it was thought he would be a verbal by now. But with the big NIL money top QB'S are getting his Dad is reportedly shopping him for the most money.

Saban pointed fingers at A&M, but parents are driving this as much as anything.

At one point parents cared what was best for their child's education. Now they care what's best for themselves.

Get used to it. The only thing that remains to see is how long the NCAA continues to exist. College sports will become corporate and if schools are involved at all it will only be to the extent that they lease their naming rights to the highest bidder. The genie is out of the bottle.

Translation "I saw what Riley got at SC, saw I'd be retiring soon and took the biggest offer I could find."

Don, I agree. If you win this one it is a.big boost and if you lose it doesn't kill your season because of the quality of your opponent. The loser does put themselves in a must win-out situation though.

As we all know Drew Brees/Mike Tirico combo for ND football games is kaput. Brees is gone from NBC and Tirico is on to bigger things.

So who is the replacement. It's being reported that Jac Collinsworth (yes former Fla Gator Chris Collinsworth's son and former ND football player Austin Collinsworth's brother) will do the play by play former Cowboy Head Coach Jason Garrett will do the color commentary. Jac is of course a ND grad and has been doing sideline stuff for ND games along with Corey Robinson. He's also does a lot of other sports for NBC.

We'll have to wait and see if these are the guys and how they do.

NBC eyeing Jason Garrett as its Drew Brees replacement

Quite a step up from those sideline gigs. Another family in broadcasting like the Bucks and Alberts.

Many think the Irish have a good shot at the choice for young Carr. I eagerly await seeing Lloyd in Notre Dame Stadium with a ND hat and Tee Shirt / Sweatshirt in support of his grandson! :D

Well I never thought of Niele as a Purdue hater. On the other hand I always thought that Carr despised the Irish, only slightly less than Ohio State.

CJ Carr’s maternal grandfather is Tom Curtis, an AA linebacker for the 1969 Wolverines and his Dad was a Wolverine also.

Lloyd attended the same Catholic church as my wife’s sister and based on his past comments that I recall, I think he definitely respects ND as an educational institution. My guess is the kid connected with ND’s staff and the family is fine with whatever choice he makes. I do wonder if H’s flirtation with the Vikings and Gattis’ departure weighed in the decision’s scales.

Irish pick up an OL in class of 2023, Joe Otting. Not that highly rated but interesting that he lettered in 3 sports. Kind of unusual for OLs.
