Agree Kp but hope he has to try to live up to his hype at Florida. :)

Nick is spot on with the problems with todays players.

Nick Saban spoke to the coaches at the Alabama football coaches association recently, and he discussed three Alabama football players who did not take full advantage of their opportunities in the CFP National Championship game in January.

Saban began talking about the three players by stating that the Crimson Tide were down multiple cornerbacks and wide receivers in the national championship game due to injury.

“There were three guys, and I am not calling out any names, that basically did not do the things they needed to do throughout the season because they were frustrated with their circumstance,” Saban said. “This is a story that you should take back to your team, so players understand it. So they are frustrated with their circumstance because they are not playing as much as they want to. They are outcome-oriented. They want to worry about how many balls they catch, or how much playing time they get or whatever it is. So they do not focus every day on being a complete player at their position, and they do not work at practice and prepare for the game because they say to themselves, Why should I do this? I am not going to play anyway. We had three guys. They all had significant roles in the National Championship game and not one of them, not one could take advantage of the opportunity that they had because they never grind through it.”

The "grind through it" is the process. I really think the only real difference between this team and last year's team is the quality of our wide receivers. The wide receivers (especially the 3 starters) on the 2020 squad were the best I've ever seen.

    Interesting comments by Saban.

Wonder where those three will be next year?

I guess we'll see. They'll either accept the instruction and buy-in or probably transfer.

Texas will host 2024 Saline (MI) QB CJ Carr after the dead period, sources tell IT.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound signal-caller holds offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, and Miami.

Carr is the grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr.

    ______________________________________________________

Can you imagine Lloyd Carr's grandson anywhere but Michigan? Certainly not at Notre Dame or Ohio State.

    Wow, just wow....

On Friday, a five-star recruit in the Class of 2023 signed an agreement with a school’s NIL collective that could pay him more than $8 million by the end of his junior year of college, The Athletic has learned. He’ll be paid $350,000 almost immediately, followed by monthly payouts escalating to more than $2 million per year once he begins his college career, in exchange for making public appearances and taking part in social media promotions and other NIL activities “on behalf of (the collective) or a third party.”

I wonder if he's contractually obligated to attend whatever school the collective is a fan of?

I'm sure he is highly motivated to earn a degree. Or maybe even attend a class.

I suspect Eli was an early find for Jimbo, before he blew up on everyone's radar. Now he's getting offers from all over the planet and wants to see what's over the horizon.
    Hard to blame him.
