Hold on, you basically said "it can't be done"...
And when I point out it in fact HAS been done, that's all you got?
    Whatever...

Scott, nobody said Fisher was handing out cash , but if you mean Alabama arranging NIL deals then you could be right. I haven't heard anything about a pool of NIL deals but it could be that Alabama beat everyone else to the punch. You see no one is accusing A&M of doing anything wrong so if Alabama jumped.in first so be it. I still think that NIL and Free Agency is terrible for college football. They're both perfectly legal but they will ruin the sport for me

It definitely is the end of "college football" as we knew it. Comined with the portal it is becoming the NFL Lite.

We'll need programs just to know who's on the team from month to month...

I suspect in a couple of years I won't be renewing my tickets.

Hoping college baseball can avoid this.

I'm not sure baseball can generate enough publicity to make NIL as lucrative as football, so it may escape. Basketball has already been spoiled by one and done.

Baseball players have always been able to transfer and be immediately eligible, as are golfers, etc.

I see that Harold Perkins has decommitted from A&M, so they no longer have 7 5 stars or the greatest class of all time.

He's visiting LSU this weekend. Want to bet that LSU interests(alumni with $$ and/or boosters with same) have contacted the family with a better NIL offer.

On that Georgia wr, I would bet $$ that he looked at the QB'S and the fact that Alabama is losing two NFL draft picks at WR creating opportunities for him.

Does he want to have a Heisman Qb throwing him passes next year, or Stetson Bennett? Think he's noticed that Alabama WR have had a great run as 1st round draft picks, while Georgia not so much.

So for him it's likely to be about getting in a position where he can be another Tide 1st round draft pick.

Nah. I think he just wants to play for Brian Kelly.

Some people are saying that NIL is making legal woat has been going on under the table.

Don't know about that, but it sure is going to change the game.

I saw an article somewhere that some anonymous Group of 5 coach said that power 5 coaches had called one of his players to tell him that they had a spot for him if he enters the portal.

In the Pro's that is tampering.

I'm not shocked that it might be going on, as has been noted it's the wild west.

Of course it's not really new, I have read that before the portal that players relatives would contact coaches on other teams to see if they would be interested in a transfer?

If you're a coach of questionable moral fiber then the NIL / Portal is a bonanza for you. This is your moment to shine.

I don't know what he's thinking, it's a really dumb look. I wonder who convinced him it was what the cool kids are doing.

If I were a recruit and he suggested it, I would have to say no thanks coach I'm not gay, not that there is anything wrong with that!

Doing the "Batman" ? I'm thinking Kelly is either transitioning or experiencing the Mother of All Mid Life Crises.

National Signing Day...used to be a big deal now with the Dec early date it's pretty much an after thought. Though there are still some players of note who will sign today. But for the most part it's a non-event for most teams.

I don't believe the Irish will sign a single player.

Well here we are, signing day.

The Gators new staff has done a great job of salvaging this recruiting period. Not going to be top 10 but probably top 20 is realistic which is a long way from where we were when Napier was hired.

Looks like Aggies, Tide and Dawgs lead the pack by a pretty good way.

    Terry,

No I don't believe the Irish will sign anymore today either but...I can't remember being this pumped about the future of Irish football in many years. Its all because of Marcus Freeman. We have already seen the results in recruiting he is having and it's just going to get better. It's also showing up in new coaches he is bringing to SB. The latest is the new RB coach from IU, Deland McCullough.

I don't think Alabama will sign anyone today. There were a couple of "maybe's" but they didn't pan out. It looks like a class of 23 signees will be the final count.
