Brandon Joseph: It was huge,” Joseph said of the relationships he developed at Notre Dame. “Day one of me being in the Transfer Portal, I was on the phone with Coach Freeman and I knew Notre Dame was going to be one of my top options. For them to have interest and be so interested so early was huge. Since then, we've developed a relationship - me and Coach Freeman and Coach O'Leary. I'm excited to see where they can take me in my game and how much I can develop under them at Notre Dame." I doubt if Kelly would have been on the phone the same day like Freeman.
Another example of the Portal craziness. This kid had a great RS Freshman season and he was a lock to start next year as well. The only thing I can think of is that he is looking for greener grass (NIL Money?). De Laura, a second-year Cougar out of Honolulu, led the Pac-12 in passing in 2021 and earned Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year honors after completing 229 of 361 passes (63.4 percent) for 2,796 yards, 23 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He guided WSU to a 7-5 regular-season record -- including a memorable victory over Washington -- and a berth in the Sun Bowl.
Yeah that's a little surprising but Jahleel Billingsly also entered the portal. He's a tight end that played in the game last night. He didn't catch a pass but he played quite a bit all season. The rest of the potential transferees are looking for.playing time.
I see the Irish have signed a Kicker from the portal from Arkansas State. Apparently NFL potential... wants to finish on the big stage to impress scouts. Holds all the records at his old school. I noticed his size.... 5'8 150 lbs. He can supplement his income by riding at the local race track.
Watching Purdue Nebraska hoops tonight and announcers talking about transfers said that there were only 4 programs in entire NCAA that did not take a transfer in this year. Amazing.
In watching the Tech/Baylor game the one of Techs starters was a 6th year guy (Covid year) and it was his 4th school, announcers said he's been climbing the ladder. Sort of like a minor leaguer going from low A to AA, to AAA to MLB.
Good luck with him. He had grade and disciplinary problems at Alabama. He is a good (not great) receiver though.
It's O.K. If he has problems he can just transfer again, and again, and again and again .......................This is all just madness
Bru McCoy, the former 5 star from Mater Dei., who was first at USC for less than a week, then at Texas for a couple of weeks, then back to USC, where he didn't accomplish much except get in trouble for beating him up his girlfriend and didn't play last year is now in the Portal. A great waste of talent
Ssssh! There is much joy on Texas boards over him! This is a typical post: Win-win. Coach him up and get him drafted, Sark and Banks get the credit. Adds a veteran presence and starting experience to an extremely young TE room.
He's good. If Texas doesn't have experience at tight end he will provide that. He actually was used as a wide out some too. He got into Saban's doghouse and had to work his way out. That may be why he transferred.
USC is poised to go from rags to riches in a hurry. Mario Williams transferring to USC: Ex-Oklahoma WR reuniting with Lincoln Riley to help rebuild Trojans - CBSSports.com
Not a surprise, besides the OU kids transfer or flipping. There has always been a a ton of talent in So Cal that traditionally wants to go to USC. Now that they have a big name coach like Riley they will flock there like they did for Pete Carroll I'm surprised that Caleb Williams hasn't announced for USC yet, I wonder where else he is considering. I'm won't be shocked of course if the team whose boosters/alums arrange the biggest NIL deal will get his services.
It would seem to me that the most lucrative NIL deals would be in the LA (Hollywood) area. It's obviously the commercial media capital and their is a large local population to boot. I'm sure that Riley is selling that.
