Well internet rumors come true, #1 overall recruit flipped from Fla. State to Jackson State to play for Coach Prime. NIL, NIL, NIL...
Likely. Also likely, planning his pro career by learning the CB position from one of the greatest ever.
Well Maalik Murphy the "other" Texas QB commit has signed his LOI. I now wonder if one of the current QB's (Hudson Card or Casey Thompson) will hit the Portal.
I guess, but I have to wonder if Dieon actually coaches the DB's at Jackson State, I would imagine most of the coaching will be done by a position coach we've never heard of and he won't exactly be playing in top competition.
I'm thinking his commitment to coach the kid directly might have been what swung the deal. I'm just speculating but I wouldn't be surprised. It's a heckuva carrot to dangle in front of an elite HS CB who wants eventually to play on Sundays.
Gators aren't highly ranked but with the short time our new coach had to recruit most of us are happy.
I guess I can't complain. As of right now the Aggies have a slight edge over Alabama for the top class. Still have a couple of high guys who might sign later. Probably the best class we've ever signed as it sits. The DL haul is ridiculous...
Gators are ranked somewhere around 50. But as I said considering our coaching changes and the short time he had to recruit we are very happy. Only 10 recruits and I don't know just how many high ranked recruits are out there but then there is always the transfer portal.
We should all ignore the college football newswires and just tune in at kickoff time on opening day. The new normal are rosters and coaching staffs that are 100% fluid right up until the opening whistle. Class recruiting ranking is meaningless; this is free agent football with zero restrictions.
I agree unless something is.done this will just accelerate. Free agency is one of.the main reasons I stopped watching the NFL.
Not a new recruit but Alabama got Eli Ricks the 5 star corner who has had a great start to his college career at LSU. He was All-SEC as a freshman and 3rd team AA last year, was playing well but got injured and recently entered the portal. With the immediate eligibility rule, he'll be an asset for the Tide next year.
Terry, yeah of course I'm happy with the Alabama class. A very good balance of running backs, OL, DL, LB, and defensive backs. Also a highly sought after QB. I'll let others worry about whether it is #1 class or not. That's not the #1 I'm after.
I think Urban's ego got away from him and maybe that tumor has contributed to some of his problems? A sad way to end his coaching career.
