Bobda are you expecting a massive invasion of Texas by Michigan Fans? What's the ticket cost going to look like you think?
Michigan got slated to the Orange Bowl. Cheapest ticket on Stub Hub listed at roughly 650. Cotton Bowl around 190.
So why Georgia and not Notre Dame. Give me something tangible? On other forums I hear the Irish don’t play in a conference so they don’t deserve it. That is not tangible…. Or is it? Georgia got its ass handed to them by a team that many did not think belonged in the top four prior to the game. So, what gives ?
Yeah I don't really have a problem with Georgia getting into the playoffs. It would have been interesting to have seen what the committee would have done had Cincinnati lost to Houston. They would be 12-1 and having beaten Notre Dame at South Bend. Would they have dropped below the idle Irish? In the 12 team playoff format where the Irish don't get a 1st round bye, I was initially "outraged" at our poor treatment. But I've come to terms with it, we sit home on Championship weekend and then our 13th game becomes the 1st round playoff game. Doesn't seem quite so onerous as I initially thought.
Cheese curds are essentially a Wisconsin thing. But, you can buy mojito lime flavored curds from a Utah dairy! Herd’s Curd: Mojito Lime (8 oz)
Probably off topic, but I felt sorry for Jared Goff after he got traded to the Lions. Now I think Jared has a really nice life regardless of his employment.
So let me get this straight, a guy signs a 134 million dollar contract with a 25 million dollar bonus, his girlfriend is an SI swim model, he guides his team to a 1-10-1 record and someone feels sorry for the guy? How about feeling sorry for the poor dumb bastard paying $100 to sit in the end zone at Ford field to watch that ****?
While we wait for Bowls to start, the Early signing period for college football is upon us. It starts Dec 15th. I think I've read that 80% of the players will sign in that period. It's why schools are dumping coaches early, and why getting the new guy in place ASAP is important, you don't have a couple of months to put together a staff and save the recruiting class. You have 2 weeks. OU has lost a bunch of players from their class, including that one I mentioned who flipped to A&M. They also lost another highly ranked Defensive recruit to Texas this week, backed out of his verbal. They are also looking at the possibility of more than a few players being in the Portal, including star freshman QB Caleb Williams. Venables has his work cut out for him. Right now the top ranked classes are 1. Georgia 2. A&M 3. Alabama 4. Ohio State 5. Notre Dame 6. Penn State 7. Texas 8. North Carolina ...Mack Brown can still recruit! 9. Clemson 10. Stanford ...been awhile since Stanford had a class ranked this high. They need it badly.
We'll probably see a flood of players opting out of the Bowl games as they "prepare" for the NFL and seek to avoid any injury from playing in the game.
Yeah, Demarvin Leal has already opted out for the Gator bowl... there are thought to be another half dozen thinking about it. Guess I'll get to see a LOT of next year's team in this one. (and I'm going, so we're guaranteed to lose)
