Coaching Salaries

I think most if not all of us here would agree that Brian Kelly is a Top Ten football coach. He hasn't won the "Big One" yet but he has won most everything else.

He ranks #60 in Coaches salaries ! Look at some of the schleps ranked above him.

Pretty amazing. I wonder how.many of these schools have a positive return on investment?

 

I really don't think that is accurate. It comes up every year when this list comes out. Private schools don't have to publish a lot of stuff that is public record for State supported schools. So while Kelly isn't like to be making Nick Saban or Jimbo type of money he's also making more than that 2.6M dollars that he's listed as making. Although to tell you the truth the coaching salaries are as far out of whack as the Salaries of CEO's.

 

The buyout numbers are outrageous.

 

Agreed Terry, Kelly's total compensation is surely in the top 10, just not being reported.

How the heck did David Shaw con his way to $9 mil?????

 

I'm not lying awake at night worrying about how Brian Kelly is feeding his family but there are many stories about how underpaid he is in relation to other coaches and they go back to the start of his tenure here and continue to the present. And those numbers are reported salaries. All of these guys make related income for endorsements, football camps etc.

Oregon and Washington offered to offset Shaw's salary when they signed him to an extension.
