The biggest change is the Bullpen. Walks, HBP, Walkoffs, non existent now. Starting pitching going well into the 6th and 7th innings now doesn't hurt either!
AJ, you have to be feeling good. The Cards have won 10 in a row and have a 4 game lead over the Reds and 4.5 games over the Phillies and Padres for the second wild card slot. Only 10-11 games left. Not much time for those teams to overtake them.
Hey what's so special about this, fans do it all the time! Jesus Sanchez catch ..he over runs the foul ball and then when he can't get with his glove he catches with his bare hand...big deal!
So it's been pointed out to me that Kevin Mitchell did it to Ozzie Smith years ago. Maybe AJ remembers it!
I do remember that. The hardest, straight line, rifle shot home run I ever saw was hit by Mitchell in the old busch. It took less than 1 second to go from home to the reserved boxes on the 2nd level. Hit the plexi glass, and bounced back into left field.
Cards are up to 15, starting to feel like the year where the team formerly known as the Indians ran off 20+ wins in a row at the end of the season.
Congrats Bobda, I like Craig Counsell of course and root for his success! Astros looking like they are going to back into the AL West Championship.
The Dodgers broadcasters really stick with the team. Vin Scully was there for 67 seasons and their Spanish language guy almost as long. Hall of Fame broadcaster Jaime Jarrín will retire as the Los Angeles Dodgers' Spanish-language announcer following the 2022 season, ending a 64-year run with the team.
On Sept 7th the Cards had a 2.8 % Chance of getting a WC spot. That's the first game I attended this year to see my Cards. Now their 3 outs from clinching the 2 nd WC spot. Coincidence? I think not. Update: Murdock (Brewers)....I'm (we're) coming to get you.... ....Rambo (Yadi) sends....
Congrats to the Cardinals, AJ! Astros magic number is 1, issue will be can they finish strong enough to hold on to the #2 seed.
Yeah, I know...it's about my Indians (I read local newspapers) but I thought y'all would be interested in this pretty good read about a time before all (most) of us... The greatest single baseball season ever? Hands-down, Lou Boudreau of the 1948 Indians: Steve Traina
