Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh Baseball....Astros have recently played the 2 worst teams in the AL Central and have been owned by them!!

On another note, here's hoping the A's pitcher Chris Bassitt is ok after being hit in the face by a line drive in the game with the White Sox last night.

Krebs is no doubt glad this guy showed up when he did! Yanks on a roll at the moment.

New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil became the first MLB pitcher with scoreless starts in each of his first three career appearances following the club's 2-0 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

Gil, ranked as the Yankees' No. 6 prospect by MLB Pipeline, has thrown 15 2/3 scoreless innings to begin his major-league career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Gil's mark is the most by a Yankees starter in the Expansion Era (since 1961), passing Joba Chamberlain's 15 1/3.

The rookie gave up three hits and four walks and struck out four batters in 4 2/3 innings on Tuesday night, maintaining his 0.00 ERA.

In his major-league debut, Gil pitched six scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles on Aug. 3. He followed that up with five scoreless frames while striking out eight Seattle Mariners batters on Aug. 8.

He pitched out of a few jams last night. Nice easy delivery. Two pitches... fastball - slider.

Miguel Cabrera, hit #500 today, and he's tracking to also get 3000 hits. He's at 2955 hits right now, but with 36 games left for the Tigers it's going to be tough to get it this year.

Bye Bye El Birdos.Vogelbach definitely looks like a guy who embraced the Milwaukee diet of beer, brats, and cheese curds.

Wow! Down 3 and he hits a walk off GS. I saw that it’s been done 8 times in MLB history, first since 2008.

I think the playoffs are pretty much set, not that somebody couldn't fall off the face of the earth or something. We are back to 5 teams from each league, 3 Division winners and 2 wildcards.

    AL
East - Looks like Tampa Bay would have to stop playing to lose the Division Both Yankjee's and Red Sox have shots at the Wildcard.

Central - White Sox are a lock no wildcard from the Central

West - Astros not a lock but a good shot at the Division. The Mariners and A's both close but if it were today, neither would make the playoffs over either the Yankee's or the Red Sox.

    NL
East Braves are the likely Divison winner, Phillies in the Wildcard race

Central - Brew crew are a lock , Reds in the WC race

West - Battle to the wire between SF and LA Padres have the best record in the WC race. Basically there is only 1 wc slot open, as either SF or LA will grab one spot.

Did you guys see that Ump take one to the facemask yesterday? He went down fast. When I was looking at the helmet/facemask there was no way his helmet didn't protect him it was very stout looking , but that shows the power of catching a foul ball even with protection. He had to be helped off the field.
