Well Covid took KU out of the B12 giving Texas the uncontested path to the B12 Finals, likely vs Baylor. I think we are seeing what we are likely to see for the Dance.
Heckuva game between Ohio State and Purdue. First time this season I've watched Purdue. They had a nice comeback to take it to OT, but OSU prevailed. I didn't realize the Walker kid from Indy played for OSU. Good player. I looked up Purdue's roster. There's not a senior on the team. The future is bright. Williams, who is a M-A-N, possibly could leave early for the draft, but if he stays, they'll be a tough out next season. Both teams should do well in the NCAA tournament.
Purdue is normally a good free throw shooting team. 15 of 27 today. I think the Bucks missed only two or three.
Buckeyes won over Purdue yesterday in OT. We wii face Michigan this afternoon in the semi finals in the tournament, I guess the third time was in our favor.
Congrats Don! You can start breathing again. surprised we did not get the ball to our big guy for the last shot.
Longhorns win their 1st B12 title, and their 1st championship since the 1995 SWC championship. They beat Texas Tech in the final Edit : No doubt this Championship means Shaka Smart will be back, this team saved his job.
I thought that the Duke AD said that their season was over when they had to withdraw from the ACC tournament. Not so fast. Teams that were affected by COVID-19 this past week haven't told the NCAA that they will not participate in the NCAA tournament if chosen by the selection committee, ESPN has learned. Those teams include Duke, Kansas and Virginia, which were forced to withdraw from their respective conference tournaments last week because of positive coronavirus tests and contact tracing.
Alabama wins the SEC tournament. Great year for the Tide, I don't know anything about Nate Oats so can't speculate if this is a 1 x great year or has he got something started in Tuscaloosa. Certainly Alabama has the money to be competitive with Kentucky and the other top SEC programs.
Illini win in OT, didn't watch but it must have been a great game. Be curious to hear from Don and Stu.
I was forced to miss the game today due to computer problems wth Apple. Just retuned so I will post later once I am back online
Terry, I think with Kentucky being so down this year, it was.an opportunity for Alabama (and others) to step up. I think Alabama started 4 seniors and a sophomore, so my thought is that there will be a drop off in next years performance.
Typical game for the Buckeyes, got off to a terrible start shooting blank treys but did recover in the second half to give the Illini a good game. We are very unpredictable, make a lot of poor mental mistakes, are weak in holding our own in the paint, but they never seem to give up either. Looking forward to the Big Dane games.
I thought it was kind of a reversal of our recent losses. Instead of starting out hot and then slipping at the end we started cold then rallied strong. But still couldn’t close it at the end in OT. But proud of how hard they fought.
I see that Penn State is reportedly going to hire away Matt Painters top assistant, Micah Shrewsberry. The coaching carousel begins now! Also I see that the ACC is eliminating the rule that undergrads who transfer within the ACC have to sit out a year.
