Not putting this on Facebook... not yet anyway. The house that first sparked our interest is now available. My realtor and my brother toured the house with us on Facetime. I told my realtor to write up a full price offer and tell the family that we are flexible on the closing date which was one of their concerns. They accepted our verbal offer and will wait for my realtor to write up the contract tonight (he was on his way to a friends wedding). The house now shows contingent on MLS. This house is directly across the street from my brother. The overhead street view shows my brother's house with a black box and the one we are contracting to buy with a red box

Forgot to mention... This house has not one stitch of carpet. All wood and ceramic tile. Contract was signed at 19:30 yesterday. Just waiting for confirmation from the sellers' realtor. The good news is that it is not showing on Realtor.com right now. I will feel better when the contract is signed and the earnest money is being requested. :)

With that monster truck you have I figured you needed to have a custom addition to your home to be able to get it in shelter!

Scott, I didn't even notice it... I thought I remembered it being directly across from Jimmy's house and Zillow put the heart on that property when I searched the address. The orientation is correct on the picture of the front of the house. I would bet that it is directly across the street from the other house shown next to Jimmy. It is shown as a vacant lot on Google Maps and Apple Maps which means it has not updated in 18+ months.

My one ton Ram will not fit in the three car garage. It is 23 ft long and the garage is 22 ft deep. The three car will be for the Grand Cherokee, the Fiat 124 Spider, and the EZGO golf cart. :) We have plans to add a second garage behind the house for a total of 5 car spaces.

This morning we had a skiting rink in the North East Austin area. We have more ice followed by snow tonight. We are not supposed to have above freezing temps until Friday. There is a chance that getting our house on the market could be delayed. We already have an offer from a family we know from the Austin car scene. They know the house and have used my lift. They bought Cindy's Hellcat Charger a little over a year ago. There offer is 11% ABOVE the intended asking price. Our realtor expects a bidding war.

Here in New Jersey, at this moment , you can expect to sell your house within two weeks and it is is not unusual to net 10-15% more than you listed for. And this is a state with one of the highest costs of living in the nation. In Florida where we have a second home, you can sell within days and receive full price plus the same 10-20% spiff over asking price.

Joel, there could be no downside and all upside to assisted living. However, the main reason for me retiring early is to keep my mother and step father living the rest of their lives in their home. I wish you well sir.

It sounds like the offer will be for the lift with the agreement that the contiguous house is thrown in with it?
