We're scheduled for #2 on Fri.
Tom weren't you and Cindy EMS techs? Can you volunteer to help do inoculations? I'm pretty sure they are in the first group.

I'm glad I took the day off, I'm feeling a bit under the weather. Nothing bad, a little achy, 98.7F, a little lethargic. I haven't taken any advil or tylenol which would probably help though. Arm is not sore at all.

Gipper, Cindy just got her 2nd dose last week. Both of us are no longer in the fire department but Cindy is still in the nursing profession. That is what got her the shots. I am 62, will be 63 in May, had a myocardial infarction in 1998, am type 2 diabetic, a Republican, and a white male. The last two trump (no pun intended) the age and medical issues.

Terry. That is an advertised side effect of the second dose. It will be better on day 2 and gone on the third. Cindy had this as well.

Bill, as I just told Gip, Cindy is still in the nursing field and has already got her 1st and 2nd dose. See my side effect comments to Terry regarding the 2nd dose but don't let that scare you off from getting it. The effects are relatively mild.

‘Mercy all the way to Miami, glad you were able to get it Stu. Does this mean your second vaccination will have to be in Miami as well?

Terry, I asked my daughter, a front line nurse, about your reaction. She said it's a good thing and proceeded to explain why. My simple summary of her explanation: It means your system is building immunity.

CDC just issued a new guideline. If you have been fully vaccinated and are at least 2 weeks post 2nd shot then you don't have to quarantine if you have a direct exposure. But that only lasts till you are 3 months post 2nd shot, after that you have to go back to quarantining.

This is my over simplified overreaction..... so we are all going through this to get 3 months of peace from worrying about Covid?

    _______________________________________________

“Vaccinated persons with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria,” the CDC added.

The criteria: They must be fully vaccinated – having had both shots with at least two weeks having passed since the second shot. But the CDC says protection may wear off after three months, so people who had their last shot three months ago or more should quarantine if they are exposed. They also should quarantine if they show symptoms, the CDC said.

Fully vaccinated people can skip Covid quarantines, CDC says

Hmmm I'm too lazy to dig up my posts from way back at the beginning of this but my gist was:
this is a cold virus... it doesn't end after you flatten the curve, so are they wanting us to continue this mask/quarantine/no gatherings BS forever?
    Answer: yes

I have no doubt that we'll probably be looking at boosters sometime in the future...that's ok. I get a flu shot every year, the flu hasn't gone away and corona virus isn't going away either it appears.
