Florida is ranked 27th as of today. Last time I checked there were 50 states (DC and PR are still on hold) so Fl’s percentage of doses administered to doses received would put them in the middle of the pack as opposed to “near the bottom” and they are above the national average. The Dakotas, WV, and NM are doing far better than everyone else.

States ranked by percentage of COVID-19 vaccines administered: Jan. 25

So 27th is to be celebrated in a state with 21 million?

Again..... any reason Florida shouldn't accept all of the federal assistance it can get in administering vaccines for all of these people?

My pointing out your misrepresentation is not a celebration.

It's been since Saturday at 10:01 am since they took those 8000 appointments in Pinellas County before accepting no more after the one minute they did and the vaccine is sitting on the shelf. DeSantis has no explanation for letting that happen without accepting all of the help that is offered by the Feds or whomever that can help. In two years there are millions of elderly voters in Florida who won't forget his incompetence.

An article in the NY Times describing the rate of vaccinations world wide has the U.S. at its current rate vaccinating the majority of the population in 6 months. The weekly average to this point is 1%, but in the past 7 days it's 1.9%. Based on the current 7-day average, we're tied for 4th with Malta at 6 months behind Israel and the U.A.E. (4 weeks), and the United Kingdom (3 months). This is just one metric that shows we're making progress. The situations will vary by state but as a whole we're OK so far.

I think “OK” is a fair rating Sid. Certainly doing better than the EU as a whole:

Harris County where I live is trying now to set up a registry that you can go to and fill in all your data so that they can get out of the business of telling people to call a number or go to a website and register. As we all know it's just shear luck if you can get in before the phone system or the server crashes with people trying to get appointments. Now you can register, and they will randomly select people who fit in the current 1A and 1B guidelines send them an invite to schedule an appointment. I guess that will work. Except when I hit the link I got a "system down for maintence" error message!!! Oh well

FWIW Harris County is run by Democrats.

Just got my appointment for the first of two at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Feb. 1 at 11:45. Roughly a 140 mile round trip.

Dave I had hoped the political crap would have possibly moved on, should I roll out the almost Democratic Florida governor picture where he’s passed out naked from drugs with two shady guys? Maybe he had the better answer who knows, lol...

Bill said it best, have a good day

Tried to get one of only 1600 vaccine appointments available today within 30 miles of where I live in Pinellas county near Tampa. I was up and on at 5:50 am and on the computer ready to go but couldn't get one.
Meanwhile the entire east coast of Florida had thousands of available appointments. I can't figure out what they are thinking.... very ******* frustrating.

My wife has the same problem. She has taken immunosuppressive medications since her kidney transplant years ago and would be at grave risk if she caught Covid. In most states, she would be placed in the same class as people >65 and would now be eligible for the vaccine. I received my 1st last week. But in Wisconsin, she is slotted in a lower classification and probably has another 1 to two months to wait.

Got #2 this afternoon, so far I have no side effects, but it is probably a little early for them to kick in to whatever level I will have to deal.

I did take tomorrow off just to be safe

Nothing for us. Being California Republicans, there are 40 million more important people inline ahead of us, with more crossing the border every day.
