Listening to ESPNU, this afternoon they were talking about Gonzaga, said that they have 3 of the top 10 players in the starting lineup. Said it was either them or Baylor and then a drop-off with the rest of the top 10
Irish lose to UVA last night, the online fans have officially turned on Mike Brey. Not in a negative way, everybody want's to acknowledge that he's been a great representative of the University and has produced some excellent teams, but that his time has come. Most want to see him retire on his own after the season. Time to turn the corner and reboot the basketball program.
Big game today for the Longhorns, they are at KU. They lead at the half. A win here would give a lot of credibility to the good start that the team has had so far.
Longhorns did get that big win today, the worst loss by KU at home in a very long time. Texas is developing a good team chemistry. On the other hand ND lost a close game on the road to UNC. we had a shot to win at the buzzer but it was off the rim. Fans continued to hope that this is Mike Brey's last year.
Interesting. Boston U and Holy Cross will play Mon and Tues, Mon at Holy Cross, Tues at B.U. B.U. has mandated their opponents wear masks during the game, and apparently B.U. players will wear masks during all of their road games as well. That will certainly be interesting to see players on the court wearing masks, I'll bet that it will be difficult to keep them on properly sort of defeating the purpose.
Don, it was a really weird game. Purdue's outside shooters couldn't hit the floor if they dropped the ball. Several close calls by the refs went our way. Not exactly an offensive show (Boiler trailed 31-16 at the half). Looked like we were going to lose the whole way. Down 5 with 19 seconds left. Trevion Williams continues to be awesome. I thought Izzo was gonna have a heart attack at some of the calls...and sometimes I think he was right. BUT...as we say at Ohio State...a W is a W.
Mackey Arena Selected as 2021 NCAA Tournament Host - Purdue University Athletics They are spreading it out between Lucas Oil, IU, IUPUI, Ball State, Butler, and Purdue.
Watched a little of the Mich/Wisc game last night...Michigan is really good. I had heard some of the basketball gurus say it was Gonzaga, Baylor and the rest...well I think you have to factor in Michigan.
Buckeyes win over Northwestern last night 81-71. A nice win for us since we lost to them by one point a couple weeks past. We had a 12 point lead with about five minuets to go and the Wildcats manage to cut it one point, but we fought back for a nice comeback and won by 10 points.
Texas lost last night to Texas Tech at home, it was one of those 2nd half collapses and we lost at the buzzer so to speak. Stopped rebounding. Still the team the best of the Smart era.
Gators up and down and losing our best player after he collapsed on the court doesn't bode well for us. Hopefully he fully recovers and is helping with the team and is on the bench for every game.
Another women's program has shutdown. Virginia called it a year with covid issues. Haven't played since mid Dec. Was 0-5 on the year.
Great first half by the Buckeyes in Champaign, against the Illini. We are up by 15 and probably playing our best game of the season thus far. Sueing doing a great job at PG, good defense and burning the nets.
Some unfortunate turnovers to start the second half, but we survived 87-81 Liddell toped all scorners with 26 points. I was really worried about our small lineup vs Illinois.
