Nonstop laughs. He has an incredible talent for, 1) funny but respectful sardonic humor describing all the difficult, dark, even sad events and incidents; 2) nonpartisan and funny but respectful digs at all the major and minor names in the news throughout the year, especially Trump and Biden. Excellent piece. Thanks, Stu.
‘I’m starting to think these robots maybe our future military, and our future overlords Military Recruiters Worry America's Youth Are Too Fat Or Dumb To Enter Service | ZeroHedge Military Recruiters Worry America's Youth Are Too Fat Or Dumb To Enter Service A recent report in military news site Task & Purpose highlights that military recruitment could soon slump nationwide in large part because America's youth are too fat or in other cases too dumb to fight. Going back a number of years this has been an increasing concern expressed by a growing chorus of both active and retired military leaders. It was also weeks ago expressed in a Dec.17 letter to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller signed by almost 800 retired admirals and generals. They warn that over 70% of young Americans between 17 and 24 can't make into military ranks because they are "too poorly educated, too overweight, or have a history of crime or substance abuse."
It doesn't get better than this. The wildest piano composer of all-time, Franz List, and the wildest conductor of all-time, Gustavo Dudamel.
We lost another one a couple of days ago. Michael Stanley never made it huge on the national stage perhaps but he is a local legend. He didn't open for Bruce Springsteen, John Mellancamp, or Bob Seger. They opened for HIM early in their careers.
Two great artists and songs. "You Send Me" reminds me of entering my teenage years. I was heartbroken when he was killed. The Temps' top hits came during my college years. Even today, I could listen to them 16/7 (8 hours of sleep).
Not long before covid made its appearance we saw The Temptations Broadway show in New York. That was the best three hours of entertainment I have ever seen. The guy who played David Ruffin nailed it 100%.
