ND/Purdue I'm not expecting that the Irish will be able to handle Purdue on Saturday Stu. I did read the promo on the ND website and was surprised to learn the Irish are 3-1 vs Purdue in the Crossroads Classic and 7-2 vs Purdue in the old Hoosier Classic.
Purdue has not fared well in Indy, for whatever reason. As I said above, we are VERY young. Travion Williams will need another monster game. I probably won't see much of the action...coincides with OSU-NW.
On the positive side now that the whole Houston basketball team has had COVID-19 and apparently recovered they should be good to go for the rest of the season.
Buckeyes beat UCLA in CBS Sports Classic in Cleveland 77-70. We are still work in progress and hopefully we will be close to where Coach Holtmann wants us to be in March?
Purdue handled the Irish 88-78 in the Crossroads Classic. Irish got transfer Trey Wertz from Santa Clara into the lineup when the NCAA cleared him to play, he did put up 27 points so that was a positive. We have some more tough games coming up and things aren't looking good for the team.
Big 10 as Don and Stu have noted the Big 10 is really loaded this year, the ACC which for a long time has been the top conference is in a funk so far, only Fla State would be able to compete with the Big 10. Even Duke seems a step out of place.
Nice win for the Buckeyes over Rutgers this afternoon here at home. WE were down by 18 points early in second half and won by 12 points. Strong bench came away with another win and Rutgers first lost in conference play.
After the Syracuse game was postponed the Irish somehow got Bellarmine to trip to South Bend for a game, Irish get the win 81-70. It was a good thing as it was going to be a long time between games if they hadn't agreed to come to ND to play
Duke Women's Basketball has opted out of the season over concerns for player Health and safety in the Pandemic. I wonder if their will be more
There were some good games within the BIG TEN yesterday. Wisconsin outlasted Michigan State, Minnesota won in OT over Iowa, Purdue beat Maryland and Michigan handled Nebraska.
Buckeyes lose to Northwestern this afternoon 71-70 in a tight game that was close all the way. The Wildcats are now 3-0 in conference play.
Is Northwestern legit? I see that Jay Wright of Villanova has tested positive and they have paused team activities. Chicago State has opted out of the rest of the season, they are winless.
I don't know what has happened to ACC Basketball, it wasn't that long ago that we were talking double digit teams in the NCAA tourney, now we have 4 teams in the top 25 with the highest ranking being FSU at #18....talk about a down year. We were the premier basketball conference....now...not so much. Also what the hell is going on with Kentucky, they have as always a ton of highly rated (but young) players...and they are 1-6.
Longhorn fans starting to cautiously become optimistic about the Basketball team, we're currently a top 10 team and have some young talent that is performing well. Could it be that Shaka Smart has finally settled into coaching in the Big 12?
