I see that Brian Kelly and Dabo have made comments about the no fans/no families policy for the Rose Bowl Semi-Final. Kelly said the Irish might boycott, I don't believe that for a moment and not sure why he said that but he also added he reason which is essentially the same thing that Dabo said. Kelly: "I'm not sure we'll play in the playoffs if the parents can't be there," Kelly said. "Why would we play if you can't have families at the game? If you can't have families at bowl games, why would you go to a game where your families can't be part of it? What's the sense of playing a game in an area of the country where nobody can be part of it?" Dabo: Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said it would be a "poor decision" and a "mistake" to keep a playoff venue where parents and families cannot attend. "It makes no sense to me to put a bunch of kids on a plane and fly them all the way to California to play in an empty stadium," Swinney said. "That makes zero sense when you have plenty of stadiums where you can have fans and, most importantly, you can have families. It's clear that both want the game moved out of California to a venue where they can have fans and the players families can watch their kids. I agree with them.
Pac 12 Championship game has been a good one so far. Oregon taking advantage of USC mistakes to lead 21-14 at half time. I'm not watching but RU and Neb are having a tight game 21-20 RU leads.
Ducks, who didn't win their division, wins the PAC 12 Championship. Kedon Slovis throws 3 picks, has a terrible game. But all in all it was a fun game to watch. That's the kind of year it's been, Ducks definitely need an asterisk by this championship!
Helton’s use of a spread passing offense really has turned USC into a soft team offensively. Even with huge lineman and talented running backs, they can’t run the ball. Oregon’s defensive lineman just pinned in their ears back and beat up USC’s QB.
Lance Leopold did not do well on his Illinois job audition tonight. Nearly every expert thought Buffalo was going to roll Ball State tonight.
UAB won their 2nd CUSA championship in 3 years, that's a program that was discontinued and then restarted after a 2 year hiatus. Impressive.
Mike White and Ron Zook took them to the Rose Bowl so one can win there. Large population state with no other power 5 conf schools in it. They have underperformed for years but a lot of that can be traced to AD mismanagement and horrible coaching hires. Iowa and Wis were perceived at one time as coaches graveyards but great hires turned their programs around. Ill has the potential to be turned around also.
This game worries me. NW is a GOOD football team and we are down 22 players including some important starters. All this talk about "needing to make a statement." I hope we go into the game with the right attitude of getting the job done and just win the game.
LOL! Should have stated only P5 state university in Illinois. NW is basically an Ivy school that survives by outsmarting its conference brethren.
Northwestern giving the Buckeyes all they can handle, lead 10 - 3. Their defense has done a great job so far.
Kinda bugged me all week. People talking about this game as if it were a sure thing and we had to win with "style points". As if NW wasn't a really good team. Concerned me even before I found out we were missing 22 players. We're lucky to be down only 4.
Incredible pick in the end zone by Northwestern. Half ends 10-6, Wildcats Hard to imagine them playing any better in the 2nd half, but I can see the Buckeyes playing a lot better.
