The vaccine is being administered this morning, here in Houston they expect about 60 thousand doses which will go to front line Hospital personnel and likely nursing home/elderly.

Since nothing is perfect, I certainly expect that we'll start to hear stories of people who have more than a mild reaction to the vaccine. I hope the news media doesn't over hype them and scare people off from getting the vaccine.

Outside of being amazed at the passion in which this doctor is explaining the positive clinical results of ivermectin it creates a hundred other questions for me on who possibly knew this information already but ignored it in the chase of billions of dollars in a new treatment. And as the doctor mentioned the data is still pouring in so possibly nobody did but instead the push for a new vaccine ignored other available meds

I use abemectin which it and Ivermectin are members of the same family of compounds from the 1980’s. Abemectin is used as an anti parasitic drug and agriculture pesticide and one I use a few times a year on our crops

Don’t laugh but the thought has crossed my mind that the Ivermectin dosage I give my bird dogs could possibly be as effective as the new vaccine if true...

Side effects may be going on point and pissing on tires but hey....

Surgeon General Jerome Adams says people still need to wear masks after vaccine | Daily Mail Online

Surgeon General Jerome Adams says people still need to wear masks and socially distance after they've been vaccinated because it doesn't prevent infection just severe illness

Essentially, all that the Pfizer trial proved was that people who received the vaccine became less sick or tested positive for the virus at a lower rate than those who were given a placebo.

It has not yet been proven that it completely protects people from becoming infected at all or passing it on though.

What a perfect way to keep the fist of fear(control)on people.
Tell them they have to get a vaccine that really doesn't work...
I'm so over living in this nanny-state BS.
We need to stand up and take our freedoms back.
I'm not saying you can't wear a mask or get the vaccine, but you damn sure should not be FORCED to do it.

Your social credit score has taken a hit with such thoughts of freedom, we need to re-educate you....

It is interesting to watch the social engineering happening right before our eyes. Govt; we are doing everything we possibly can to make a vaccine, wear your mask and distance “until it’s administered”. Six months later, vaccine being shipped across the Country to much fanfare. Day after with no warning govt starts preaching mask and social distancing rules have not changed “in spite of vaccination”.

Given that this country is now existing on freshly printed currency it will be interesting to see how many decades it takes to recover from this self-administered economic suicide.

Meanwhile, those who tend to vote Republican and financially contribute to that party, ie. small business owners, are being destroyed by governors who flout their privilege and order irrational lockdowns.

Makes me appreciate Gov Desantis even more as we watch the carnage other governors are doing to their state’s.

There's a new bill filed in Texas right now to remove the Governor's ability to shut down businesses.
Hoping that one goes through. This emergency powers crap really needs to be limited down to very specific instances... and a cold virus is NOT one of them.

As you know I have a son is the state police here in New Jersey. being a "progressive" state we have had two prisoner releases during the pandemic in the name of health safety. In the last one, my son told me the heartwarming tale of a drug dealer who was released and within 7 hours made his way over 100 miles home, procured a gun and murdered his cousin for some kind of perceived past transgression and was apprehended and back in custody, all in less than 24 total ours.

Merry Christmas...a new more transmissable variant of the virus has emerged in the UK!!

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was due to chair an emergency meeting with ministers Monday after the announcement of a potentially fast-spreading new coronavirus variant prompted a chaotic border shutdown.

Alarm over the new variant, which was first identified in England, has resulted in British travelers being cut off from much of Europe and other parts of the world as countries imposed restrictions on travel from the UK.

It appears that I'll likely qualify for the vaccine as a 65+ Senior before I'll qualify as a dentist.

HOUSTON – State health officials are prioritizing seniors and people with serious illnesses in the next phase of the coronavirus vaccine rollout.

Currently, only frontline health care workers and people living in long-term care facilities are eligible to receive the vaccine in what is being called Phase 1A.

In Phase 1B, as it’s being called, the vaccine will be made more widely available to anyone 65 years of age or older and to people 16 years or age or older with at least one chronic medical condition. Those conditions include, but are not limited to:

    • Cancer.
    • Chronic kidney disease.
    • COPD.
    • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies.
    • Solid organ transplantation.
    • Obesity and severe obesity (BMI of 30 kg/m2 or higher).
    • Pregnancy.
    • Sickle cell disease.
    • Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
“The focus on people who are age 65 and older or who have comorbidities will protect the most vulnerable populations,” said Imelda Garcia, chair of the state’s Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel and the Department of State Health Services associate commissioner for laboratory and infectious disease services. “This approach ensures that Texans at the most severe risk from COVID-19 can be protected across races and ethnicities and regardless of where they work.”

Officials said it will likely be a few weeks before the transition to Phase 1B starts, depending on the amount of vaccine provided to Texas and how the vaccine is being taken among priority populations. Officials said there is an estimated 8 million people in the 1B group.

State leaders said that frontline workers will likely be part of the phase that follows 1B, but the timetable will depend on how much of the vaccine is available in the state.
