Is that the rule in the Big 10, Neb gets the win if Wisconsin can't play?

As of Wednesday morning, 12 people within the program had tested positive for the coronavirus in the past five days. That total includes six student-athletes and six staff members, including head coach Paul Chryst.

"This morning I received the news that I had tested positive via a PCR test I took yesterday," Chryst said in a statement released by the university on Wednesday. "I informed my staff and the team this morning and am currently isolating at home. I had not been experiencing any symptoms and feel good as of this morning.

On another board somebody said that the Big 10 rule is that if a team has greater than 5% of its players out with Covid then the game has to be cancelled. Wisconsin reportedly has 6 players and 6 staff members including HC Paul Chryst. So I don't know how they calculate the 5%, is it 5% of the scholarship athletes ( 85) or is it 5% of all the players on the team, walk-ons, preferred walk-ons, I guess anybody that suits up and practices. Teams frequently have over a 100 players on the squad when you include all of those guys. If it's the 85 then if you have 5 players you've hit the limit. If it's that total number of players who practice then if you have 110 players then once you have more than 5 players you are in the >5% area. Wisconsin would need around 120 players to make 6 positives work

Don, Stu, do you know the rule here?

If that 6 players is over the 5% limit and those players have to sit out 3 weeks, then it would seem like the Purdue and Michigan games are likely to be canceled right?

No clue. We could always do it like the liberal judiciary...change the rule if we don't like it.

TOK, if the 1st tests occurred last Saturday as has been reported, that supposedly would count as day 1. The 21st day would be Friday, 11/13, so the players would be eligible for the Michigan game on 11/14.

Bob when can those players return and practice with the team. If they can't practice the week before the Michigan game that certainly impacts their ability to play vs Michigan.

They can return to practice 14 days after the 1st positive test if follow up tests are negative.

With all the turmoil around Texas and Tom Herman, the Longhorns got another kick in the nuts. Their prize recruit in the 2022 class, Quin Ewers, the #1 rated QB and overall recruit...bailed on them the other day. Thanked everybody but said he's going to look around. This from a kid who when he gave his verbal he said how he'd always wanted to be a Longhorn and how his whole family were Longhorn fans.

Looking like he might end up at Ohio State now.

I see that Alabama lost a big commit, the #3 player in the 2022 class a LB, Jerimiah Alexander who is from Alabama, opened up his recruiting. I doubt it was for the same reason as the Longhorn kid though.

Tide however continue to have the #1 overall class in the 2021 cycle with the Buckeyes hot on their heels. I saw one article that said the Tide 2021 class could be the best recruiting class in many years.

Have you guys been following Kiffin on his fine for retweeting a fans tweet who was critical of the SEC officials in the Auburn/Ole Miss game? It's pure Joey Freshwater. I don't know what will be the end result of Kiffin and Ole Miss, will he be successful or not, but he will be entertaining.
