I have had the same thoughts as this article below illustrates..... that Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx swallow their words and their criticism of some of the more far out things that Trump says and does in order to preserve their place on the podium and keep themselves in a place to help America through this terrible crisis. Cudos to both for biting their tongue just enough so as not to provoke their volatile boss from removing their expertise and knowledge from the federal response effort. Dr. Birx is struggling with a nearly impossible choice - CNN

Hoping for the best... the very best for the early reopeners like Ga. and Texas. But if they are wrong then these other heroes will be called upon: An ER doctor who continued to treat patients after she recovered from Covid-19 has died by suicide - CNN And also too whether misled..... confused.... brave patriots... or just hard headed those people that decide to jump in the water early are in a way heroes too because they may bear the brunt of failure or let's hope they bask in their successful re-entry.
Somebody has to hit the beachhead. . I've seen enough research evidence to believe I'm at low risk. My odds are no different than they were before mighty Covid19 arrived. So I'm ready to get back to doing things... and I know I'm not alone.
Good luck to you Scott..... I hope you and millions of others can evade the virus or at least the trouble it can cause. I had a bypass 25 years ago and I am 65 and also can have asthma at times..... especially when I have a chest cold and I have a history of high BP although I manage it pretty well currently. Obviously I'm in the high risk category..... my ass stays put and I watch what happens.
Scott as a Aggie fan it’s evident that a slow agonizing death is imminent Let me know if your diesel comes up for sale before this happens though
Dave I pray that you remain safe... That being said I’m working 55 hours a week, harvesting crews that pick our fruit and vegetables are sitting side by side on the two hour bus ride south everyday. We forget as we run to the grocery store that others are meanwhile getting it done and don’t have the time to watch CNN, Fox News or whatever mouthpiece is selling scare tactics. I’m done with the idea that this is the apocalypse. I’m not convinced that wearing a mask at Publix that only a short time ago we were told is inconsequential is the socially correct thing as a good citizen, hell, I cough and pretend to sneeze at this point to get a reaction. . We are looking at 70% of small business going bankrupt if we are even that fortunate, this continued lock down will follow us for 30-50 years. I still say go the Swedish route, protect and quarantine the elderly but accept the herd mentality that the virus is here and we can’t duck and dive from it for the next 12-18 months.
In this case AJ I'm pulling for Texas fans too.....in addition to A&M fans. I'm hoping like hell that Georgians and Texans pull us forward instead of setting us back.
Dave, I totally understand where you are, and that sentiment. My dad is 79, and has had 2 bypass surgeries along with diabetes. I want him to keep his butt locked up, even tho it's "killing" him to be alone so much. As Ralph said... those who can need to get out and DO, or there won't be much left to come back to.
If I wasn't a sitting duck for serious Covid complications I would feel the same way as you do Scott. I have managed to avoid it for going on two months now..... my wife and family and I need to stay the course.
We all have stake in the game, my 28 year old son who is the apple of my eye has ankylosis spondylitis, think rheumatoid arthritis on steroids. He takes an injection every week in his thigh to maintain a normal life. He spent the weekend with us, first time we have seen each other since Covid reared it’s ugly head. Problem is when he takes his injection his auto immune system basically doesn’t work for 48 hours. We were saying our goodbyes on Sunday and as he walked towards his truck his limping was very evident. I’m like son your hobbling pretty bad when is the last time you took a shot. His reply was Dad I skipped it to be safe as I visited you, I’ve missed you and mom. Thought I could hobble a bit and worth the pain to spend time with you... Not gonna lie, sniff, he will never realize how much it touched me when he said that nonchalantly, we each battle something and I hope we can lift each other up when needed
Ralph as Florida enters Phase One reopening as per DeSantis this afternoon, good luck and good health to you and your family.
