It doesn't look.good. Apparently it will be at least another month before we reach the peak of infections but that is just the peak. We will have to stay in some degree of isolation to maintain the progress. I wonder how long that is and how low the new infection rate has to go before we can return to some form of normalcy. I would imagine complacency will be a real danger
I guess everybody knows by now that the Pirate made an ill advised Tweet that he had to take down. He thought it was funny, but in these times there is no funny in what he tweeted. Leach deletes, apologizes for quarantine tweet
yeah, in this day and time, I wonder if Ralph Kramden would have been arrested for what he said to Alice?
I saw the same photo. I saw the humor in it, but being in Mississippi now, it wasn't a good idea to post that.
I see that one of Mike Leach's DL's has entered the Tranfer Portal as a result of his Tweet. Also hard not to notice that Alabama is being creative in dealing with the current situation. Saban sent all of his players an i-Watch. Of course this has set off a flurry of is it legal, can we do it as well. Alabama's use of Apple watches to track football players sparks debate
. "I wonder how long that is and how low the new infection rate has to go before we can return to some form of normalcy." I appreciate that Trump wants life in America to return to normal but what he suggested today is that the virus will cease to be as infectious and contagious as it currently is. As soon as that curve starts going down he says arenas and stadiums will fill again for sports. Now... as much as we all dream about that happening I was left pretty incredulous that he could be seriously thinking that is going to happen in a few short weeks. If Trump could wave his imaginary magic wand and make all of this go away I would vote for him in September. Alas.... this article in the USA Today probably tells the harsher truth: Donald Trump can't bully the NFL into starting season before it's safe
Right now I can't see any sport restarting this year. Maybe Golf because it easily facilitates social distancing. Players could even wear masks. But even golf is unlikely.
If there's a 1 in 200 chance of someone on a plane having the coronavirus I'm not flying anywhere. If that chance is 1 out of 200 that one person out of 80,000 in attendance at a football game has it then it means that there are 400 people in that stadium potentially with the virus. Tickets anyone?
Yeah that's what I was talking about above. Right now everyone is just talking about the peak of infections. There is is an undetermined amount of time after that that we could reignite the infections and restart the whole timeline. Premature optimism is.going to be a.real problem.
Tim, the problem is you are not the only one that will pay for that gamble. If you.get infected and you become contagious then everyone that you come in contact with are endangered. Your family, your friends and strangers as well.
Today, I had to tell my son that he couldn't go fishing here in Alabama. Even though all the soccer moms have taken up running/walking together in large groups, I don't care what other people are doing. Fishing is a big deal here and if I had to kill that, you guys can tow the line as well.
I would think Fishing would be safe for 1 guy on the bank or on a dock...you can practice social distancing fairly easily in those situations. 1 guy in a boat would be a no brainer.
Dog parks closed here. All that social distancing training with Henry so that he paw bumped his buddies rather than butt sniffed was wasted.
