I am not sure which is uglier— the Independence Bowl game or the trophy they give to the winner.

I remember the post game buzz after Miami lost to the Gators, it was that the future was bright for the Canes and Manny Diaz. Now we are here and the season ended horribly for them, losing to LaTech in a bowl was not even on the radar!

The Pitt-EMU game should be renamed Egg Bowl II. Dirty play and trash talking for four quarters. The EMU defensive captain was ejected for spitting at a Pitt player. 6 Pitt players received unsportsmanlike penalties on 1 play for excessive celebration. And then, with EMU down 4 at their 40 with only seconds remaining in the game, their starting QB
( and offensive captain), who had played a excellent game up to that point, was ejected as a result of this incident

The back-up QB, who had not taken a snap all game, then came on the field to throw a 4th down incompletion.

The antics of his captains will overshadow the fact that their coach, Chris Creighton, rescued EMU’s program. EMU had been the doormat of the MAC for decades, and prior to his hiring, it was reported that the school was contemplating disbanding the program. He has taken Eastern Michigan to three straight bowl games but tonight’s debacle will likely be a PR nightmare for the school and him.

A very startling game to watch. I did not stay up to see the end of the game and was shocked to see see what happened. Miami really looked bad. I am confident Ralph is not too happy about the incidents and play in general.

I didn't watch the EMU game, but that is a shocking ending to say the least. That kid is going to face some consequences for hitting the ref esp.

That being said we have reached a new low not seen since the late 70’s, it’s become 15 years of mediocre. Lol, when Louisiana Tech drubs you in a bowl game there’s not much anyone can say but hand me the loaded pistol please...

Next year’s schedule may prove even worse so I’m searching Amazon for an Iowa St cap to wear, gotta go with a proven underdog that at least performs.

I have to step up and say I was pretty wrong about Miami after watching Florida struggle with the Canes.
It was a first game and I thought that Miami was all Florida could handle and that the Gators were a pretty good team so that made Miami good as well.
Miami turned out pretty average.... and Florida played better in their games to follow than they did vs. UM in Orlando.

Temple in deep trouble with North Carolina. Mack Brown has had a great season with the Tar Heels!

Dave I was actually okay with our close loss to the Gators as it showed promise with the upcoming season. Thing is we totally went down hill from there and the Gators played and improved to its talent level. What saddens me worse is that our players in all honesty are probably on par or close to the talent that UF has but it’s been wasted due to a lack of coaching...

Well Mack Brown and UNC certainly ended the year on a high. Mack has a pretty good recruiting class coming in, ranked #17 on ESPN with 27 kids. I thought Mack would be a big time failure on this go around with UNC. Maybe not.

I just checked and Mack is only 68, he may have found his sweet place to retire in a few seasons
