Although Dwayne Haskins has not announced that he is leaving, he has to be counted to do so. That means 5 underclassmen have decided to enter the draft. I doubt that any more will do so.

George, that is all true. It will really suck when it hits the 4 playoff teams.

At most places I have worked, I have been informed of my "total compensation package", of which direct compensation (salary and insurance) are a part. In addition, things such as the employer's portion of employment taxes, additional insurance, training, etc. are given a dollar equivalence to give a full idea of what expense of providing me employment are.

One of the HUGE benefits these kids have that RARELY gets discussed is training facilities, training personnel, and PUBLICITY. Primarily, the argument about paying players starts with the stars, who are the ones "earning" or are "owed" the right to be paid. The rest of the team (which is 95% of them?) are added to the discussion, but really aren't the ones putting so much pressure on the topic. These are the ones that likely have a future in the NFL. And these are the ones that hugely benefit from the training facilities, training personnel, and PUBLICITY that are all provided to them, free of charge, for the duration of their scholarship agreement. For this top 5% (or 1%?) the direct pay (scholarship) isn't even really a huge benefit for them since they're not likely to think they need it, and it's kind of in their way to training for their "real" future job. However, how do you put a price on free access to training facilities, training personnel, nutritionists, PUBLICITY, etc. that all directly feed into their ability to brand themselves and prepare themselves for what they intend on being their future employment.

Now, this part of course ignores the argument of the tweener, who is a college star yet recognizes that is likely as far as he is able to go. That person, unfortunately, cannot currently take advantage by monetizing his current stardom. However, that stardom is a direct result of the publicity provided in addition to his talents, not exclusively due to his talents.

Kesley, that's kind of what I referred to above as an apprenticeship to the NFL.

Haskins announces today he is leaving Ohio State for the NFL draft. No big surprise on this one!

Big Shock! Kyler Murray is going to enter the NFL draft. It will be a bit dicey it seems, since he's already got Oakland A's money, and NFL draft is slotted. As long as he's a 1st round selection, he'll get more money than the A's paid him. After that I'm not sure.

Tate Martel, Gator Aid Player of the year 2017 has entered his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal. With Fields enrolling at Ohio State, he sees the handwriting on the wall. The biggest problem now is what happens if Field's waiver to play this year is declined? We could be in a world of hurt!o_O

Some are saying that ND QB Brandon Wimbush will be headed to Penn State as a Grad Transfer. I have read that Jalen Hurts is wanted in Norman Oklahoma, not sure if that's true or not though.
