If you remember, Carson lost in the state championships for wrestling to a guy named Clay Webb. He's also a 5 star prospect in football who many considered a lock to go to Alabama. Well, today he committed to Georgia. He's a legit stud with great feet for a guy his size.

I saw that he's a 5* OL and according to what I read is the only top player in Alabama to commit to an out of state school. So I guess he and the family are moving to Georgia!:rolleyes:

I'm sure that redneck entourage that followed them all around are feeling betrayed today.

Dec 19th is the Early Signing Day. It's sort of become the end of 2019 recruiting, most teams will sign nearly 100% of their current commits and the kids left out their that either don't sign for some reason and those who haven't made a decision will have to wait for the traditional Feb date.

SEC is as usual dominating the top 10 in recruiting. Ohio State is lower ranked than most years, I assume partly due to all the Urban Meyer drama that started back in the summer time, but they will still likely have a top 10 class. Irish are hanging on in the top 10 but just barely and I could see losing a spot or two if somebody below us (Michigan) picks up some kids in the next week .

That Alabama OL that Georgia signed pushed them to #2 and dropped A&M to #3. Top 5 remain Bama, Georgia, A&M, LSU and Clemson.

Oregon picked up the #1 ranked recruit in a DE named Thibodaux from So. Cal. Mario Cristobal has put together a very good class they are top 10 I don't usually think of the Ducks leading the PAC 12 in recruiting but they are

And the Aggies flipped the #1 JUCO DB from Oregon today.
A big position of need for us.

Chip Kelly sure has an odd recruiting strategy. Last year with the late start, his early signing class was only 11 (according to ESPN), but he picked up a lot in the Feb signing date ending up with a 27 man class. He is currently outside the top 40 and has only 11 kids recruited. Oregon has more California recruits than Kelly? Usually the 1st full year of recruiting is where coaches get a big haul, the kids don't look too much at what the team does in the 1st year and Kelly even finished not with a lot of wins, but he beat USC and gave Stanford a heck of a game before losing. So you could say things finished on the upswing. But right now it's not showing up in recruiting.

They did get the #1 guy, so the checks must be starting to clear now.

Oregon got the #1 guy in the ESPN rankings. Highest UCLA player is an OT who is their only 4 star player and he's a good one, ranked in the top 50. But the rest of the class is ranked around #500 and below. To put it in prospective, Wazzu is ranked 11 slots ahead of them and they don't have Westwood, Hollywood and Southern California babes to help out!

Seems like no one wants to wait anymore do they? Ohio State is mentioned along with Florida State and Oklahoma as possible landing spots. I have to think Haskins is going to the NFL, but that could change. If Fields does not have to wait a full year to play, that put our backup QB Tate Martel in a ticklish situation. We do not need any more headaches here in Columbus!

Ah, I apologize Doc. For some reason I thought you were saying that UO's recruiting class was slow to come around. Going back I see you meant UCLA. In that respect, I got nuttin'. I will say that UCLA are, to quote Gabe Marks, kinda douchey, so maybe that has something to do with it?
